I have it too on Xubuntu 10.04 and ASUS Eee PC 1001PX. I use xmodmap to fix keyboard layout a little, then `xset r 105` to set repeat for the left arrow, which is former Ctrl key. It works, but after I press one of the several (not all) of the keys with special function with Fn modifier, repeat is disabled again. These keys include for example two brightness shifting keys and NumLK.
