Another cycle, same behaviour.
Uptime 3 days 12 hours, and I've seen the strange monochrome windows
again. Memory use at 83% after Evolution (which I'm now starting to
use) grew to 1.3GB resident. After terminating Evolution, back down to
61% memory use (3.6GB) for programs totalling less than 1

I too experience this problem since a few days, probably after an
update. At home I always use a mouse, so I did not notice until
recently. I have an Acer Aspire One ZG5 with Ubuntu 10.04 2.6.32-22

As my workaround suggests this could be a problem in nvidia-current:
cd /usr/lib32
mv libGL.so libGL.so.bak
ln -s nvidia-current/libGL.so.1 libGL.so

I have the same problem with ubuntu lucid and samsung screen. when using hdmi,
resolution goes up to 1920x1080 but desktop menus are out of the screen frames.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better.
I tried to reproduce your problem, but I couldn't. For me, on all themes the
launcher icons get the right background.
Please answer these questions:
* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps

Next time I will try not to be such an idiot.
Printing now works using both
Epson Stylus S20 - CUPS+Gutenprint (OpenPrinting LSB 3.2) v5.2.4 Simplified and
Epson Stylus S20 Foomatic/gutenprint-ijs.5.2 drivers
so I guess it will work for all the other options.
