Rising this bug from the deads ;) IMHO, the ideal behaviour is that the file would open in the helper application as a new file: allowing edits *and* displaying a "save as..." window on save. As simple as this.
Openoffice allows this. Extract from the manpage --------- -n filename Creates a new document using filename as a template. --------- So, why not configure Tunderbird, Firefox and other internet software so that helper apps open in "new file" mode when possible ? Files would still be saved read-only to /tmp in any case. ** Also affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Status: New -- attachments open in read only mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209695 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
