I'm seeing a very similar issue:
After upgrading to nvidia-current 195.36.15-0ubuntu3 from nvidia-current
195.36.15-0ubuntu2 my MacMini (GeForce 9400) fails load the nivdia driver.
The driver seems to be present, but fails to load under X with the following
error:

Every time I turn on my PC and I do not see the printer! Restart the
computer, turn off and turn the printer so I can see my Epson CX5200
printer list. Why? sometimes happens that should restart your PC 2 / 3
