Boot with nomodeset makes X function. But I cannot initially see the mouse
pointer, it appears after two or three minutes; later on, and after a few

I had the same error, fresh install from release cd. Live cd will not
display, but I installed server, then ubuntu-desktop, and it would not

does anyone have any idea how one could manually get rid of the grub2
from the partitions and also what it was doing when it installed grub2
that was so odd.it kept saying not recommended
also i may add that i used gparted off a bootable cd and deleted the
ubuntu/xubuntu partitions and reabsor
In fact, the resume.d scripts have been entirely obsoleted now for
several releases, and dropped entirely from the acpi-support package.
So this issue as described is fixed.
There is also no module in the kernel in 10.04 LTS named 'sbs', so there
doesn't appear to be anything else that needs to be

Same problem, disconnect on anything but small download.. hard to reconnect,
but with Atheros and Intel 2200BG mini-pci cards. Comp is A31.
Was/is fine with 9.10.
Also has total lockup with suspend to ram... requires powerdown

In the Top Right Menu the Wifi Icon is half overlaid by the Speaker. There
seems to be a problem only on
initial powerup, as a re-boot will display correctly

Attached you will find four different PNG files of a COLD BOOT of Ubuntu 10.04.
Notice how the Wifi Icon gets overlaid and it occurs on about 40% of COLD
STARTS.
A Re-Boot will generally fix the problem.
