Summary says it all. Every few seconds the main sound mixer and most of
the others mute on their own (with no user input.) This makes sound
unusable. Unmuting the mixers makes sound come back for about 1 second
then they mute again. The only way to fix the problem is to reboot

The overheating problem occured after an update from 9.10 to 10.04. I
decided to reinstall 10.04 what solved any problems for me.
So in my case the upgrade from 9.10 -> 10.04 caused my laptop to
constantly overheat but after a fresh install of 10.04 my netbook now
works beautifully.

I can confirm this bug, that's a long-known issue, I thought there was
already a bug open for that.
The problem is that access to the public WebDav folder is always done via the
guest Apache user, and I guess Apache defaults to mapping it to the 'nobody'
system user when creating new files. See

Hi Mark,
We'd like to get the results of "sudo lsinput" to see what shows up as an
input device. lsinput is from input-utils, so that will need to be installed to
get the results. From conversation, and for the time being, I am setting the
