Worked in Karmic so confirmed as a regression in Lucid. Desktop machine
occasionally restarts after power-failure and does not automatically
connect to Auto Eth0 (the only network available). After logging in an
selecting the network from NM, it connects fine. /etc/network/interfaces
includes "auto
PS: The Auto Eth0 entry in NM always shows "Last used" as "Never", even
though this is the one and only connection on the machine and the only
one I use. "Connect automatically" is selected. Config file attached for
reference -- what is the "no-auto-default" line -- is this the problem?

Yes, I installed Xubuntu 10.04. and can now just tell other people with
similar pc's/notebooks (Compaq Armada Pentium III 750 Mhz, 256 MB
RAM)...just don't try! With XP the laptop boots in approx. 5 minutes
(incl. antivirus). Wih Xubuntu 10.04. it became a nightmareit took
more than 10 minutes

Thanks for the solution, it worked for me on E6410 with nvidia card.
After installed the driver from nvidia website it worked, but then I installed
the kernel updates of course it didn't worked. Then I uninstalled the preveious
installed nvidia driver and reinstalled it from the ubuntu repo

I belive removing "network manager" should not affect anything
especially wicd because these are replacements to each other. But
sometimes, it may affect. If you face any such problem, then try
reinstalling wicd.

I am using synergy on my laptop as a client. When I reboot the laptop,
everything works normal as expected. The problem seems to arise after

I added code that makes software-center more robust by using %(amount)s.
If that is missing it will just not display it but not crash.

NB: The atl1c module is there because otherwise the ethernet controller didn't
work after a resume. Remove it from the list if you aren't experiencing that
problem.
