I switched to fglrx for a while (the issue does not appear there).

Probably Ubuntu is one of the best versions of Linux, but it is not, and

Just to chime in: I tried to boot from the daily live built 20100406 and
it still is a complete show stopper for me on MBP 5,2. "nomodset" and
"vga=efifb" don't really help here either, as the whole boot process

But, it seems an issue with reactivating the screen. I can reproduce
this issue only by disabling and reenabling the screen like Jeff said.

Thanks Steve, that was a wild guess on my part. Before I get started I
want to clarify above all else that this should be considered very low
priority, as it only occurs on the very first boot after installing, and
it passes so quickly (3 to 4 seconds) that if you'd blink you'd miss it.
Also, wheth
installing now works, flawlessly with wine 1.1.42, so closing this bug.

I have this after an upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04 LTS beta via the web.
I can't find the versing, so i suppose it is beta 1.
I get the error by simply starting the program.
I am running inside VMWare Workstation 7 for Linux (on ubuntu 9.10)

caused this tempest. it was the somewhat dismissive sounding 'Sorry,
the only response here is "Don't Do That Then"', which helped reinforce
the impression that this was a "won't fix" situation.

Can anyone that can replicate this please run rhythmbox under valgrind?
To do so, on a terminal:
$ valgrind --log-file=/tmp/rhythmbox-valgrind.log rhythmbox
This will run rhythmbox very, very slowly, because valgrind does check
all the memory accesses, so please be patient. Once it's running, try

I can reproduce this bug in Lucid. Launching evince from the terminal
with this file gives five copies of the following error:
Error: Invalid Font Weight
The document still opens in evince though.
When I try to print the document to a Canon i965 attached locally via
USB it appears in the print
