This sounds okay in general, but I'm curious about the "Replaced

Wmctrl -o X,Y command does not work with Compiz if its "Desktop Cube" and
"Rotate Desktop" plugins are activated. AFAIK, the desktop layout in that case

Symptoms are exactly the same - suspends fine, but restored only to black
screen. Xorg takes most of processor

I'm at a loss here what is missing from this bug report.
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
gimp crashes when trying to scan with File/Scan/QuiteInsane/Scan
2. the behavior you expected, and

(2.29.91~bzr651-0ubuntu1~daily1~karmic) on ubuntu karmic.
