authorised". However, I can use mount to mount it manually. I'm using
Lucid but this problem has been present since Karmic.

/var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state had NetworkingEnabled=false
and WirelessEnabled=false. I don't know what caused this.
I deleted the file, rebooted, and now I can connect to my network again
-- at least the wired network which I use at the office.
One more thing that may be obvious, but worth saying: Try using
headphones, the speakers may be garbage. The Lenovo forums are full of
audio-related complaints for various t4xx laptops, I even saw a picture

packages. The file /boot/vmlinuz is certainly not part of any Ubuntu
package, and grub has no way of knowing that this kernel needs an initrd
in order

The most recent mysql 5.1 upgrade has caused this bug for the last few
weeks now. I've reported it now as aaport popped up and I remembered my
launchpad login.
I did try removing and reinstalling mysql but this didn't fix the issue,
as it's my development box I'm not too bothered. I'll try some of
Confirmed the gdm restart instead of freeze.
It's the only noticeable change as the rest of the related problems are still
in (screen corruption, the gdm restart itself). But this maybe makes the bug
easier to deal with.

I can't reproduce it because I can't broke my system again. We talked
about this issue in Xorg Proprietary Drivers Mailing List since this
happened during these kind of tests last week.
