During the freeze, could you try opening pavucontrol (PulseAudio Volume
Control) or paman (PulseAudio Manager) and seeing if they work? The new
GNOME volume control applet in Karmic which appears when you right click
on the sound icon and click sound preferences would also do fine.

As seen on various forums, and because my laptop (Acer Aspire-5315) is
on a dual boot with an XP, I chose to flash my BIOS. Went from V.1.33 to

Yes, I think the bug is the same. I had not noticed the connection
with the usage of two fingers. If you are using any brush (or eraser,
etc.) in Gimp, you are holding down the left button and using another
finger to paint with the brush. Then, bang it flies across the screen

I also had no problem with the version compiled from source, but have
this problem with the version from the repo. Trouble with using the
compiled version is that it doesn't seem to take the same arguments as
the old version in the repo, and I can't get it to run with xwinwrap :(
