Ok. I've reinstalled IBus and it seems to be working fine now.
I don't know what fixed the issue though. I installed and removed IBus
and scim both at least twice and in various orders and with reboots
most times.
I'm glad this is fixed though! I was unable to do work of any kind :)

I rebooted, then suspend-resume cycled, and sound is now working.
Audacity is also not skipping or taking exorbitant amounts of processing

then applying the hack etc. sound is not working satisfactorily.
The volume fluctuates, there is scratching and hissing, sometimes the
sound disappears, there's no way to use SIP telephony, won't get voice

Hello, this is not a bug I think. I have the same "problem". My
motherboard can use both ECC and non-ECC RAMs. I use non-ECC ram and
motherboard reports, that it use non-ECC and it can use ECC RAM. Not
that it use ECC RAM as non-ECC RAM.
The bug should be corrected by lowering severity from warnin
confirmed as still an issue with latest bios update and clean install.
the bios update did fix the brightness issue and I'll take my progress
wherever I can get it.

I can also confirm this issue on my XPS M1330 running 9.10. Plug in mic
works fine as either mic 1 or mic 2, but internal mic is not even shown
as an option. The workaround mentioned using sudo alsamixer does not

I had the same issue where the weather was not showing. Resolved by
going to System > Administration > Time and Date and select the correct
time zone.

Shouldn't this at least be fully consistent ? I mean ok, you do not wait for
non core filesystems, but you either do not wait with anything unless bootwait
is specified, or you wait with everything ? Now tty's will not start while gdm
will start.

I have an Nvidia video card and downloaded the latest driver as
recommended. I have had no problems. I think the problem might be that
the rest of you are running a system using an Intel chipset. I am using
