Any chance of getting higher priority on this issue ?As this could be a bit of
a show stopper for people to move to Ubuntu.
I believe that this is becoming a bigger issue that affects a large enough
community (running IBM Thinkpads) that we need to get to the bottom of this.

I didn't noticed that the behavior changed. To write for example "á" I
need to type: [Compose] + [´] + [a] instead of [Compose + ´ ] +[a].

Attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file.
If you can from after reproducing this issue (or /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old).
Try to run the Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty and check if this error still exists

Thank you for taking the time to report this problem and help to improve
Ubuntu.
Is this failure reproducible? The libpam-modules preinst script is a
very short shell script, so any segfault must be due to a problem in
some other component; we need to be able to reproduce the failure to
find out
It also diable a lot of buttons in views from plugins like the ADT (Android
Development Tool).
This is NOT a LOW priority!

I'm soon leaving my home for a day at the office and I'd prefer not to
have the 30mn wake ups for the whole day if it does not fix it.
But be assured that the PPA will be in as soon as I am back this
