After rechecking I'm not so sure any more this sync will actually

I have just tried the 9.10 Alpha 5. The same failure is still there on
both Ubuntu and Kubuntu. i.e. the CD install/Boot hands after a few
seconds and the status indicator bar locks at about halfway through.
The same disks work fine on my Clevo laptop however and kudos on fixing

I would like to add that I do not receive the error "gtk warning . . .
cannot open display :0.0" if I stop networking. The error only occurs

I can confirm that I am having the same problem on my Dell Latitude
E6400, which has very similar hardware. This worked when I first
installed Karmic Alpha 4 so this is some sort of regression.

Binary package hint: apport
Hi!
The apport-collect currently add one attachment per comment, and it's a
bad idea. Why not just add one comments with all the attachments inside
like the apport-gtk does ?

i think i was just seeing this because i was using xorg from the xorg-
edgers ppa, and the that package does not have the patch yet. the ubuntu
xorg is patched, so no one should ever see the message.

It was very difficult for me to associate this icon with anything
network-related. Recognizing the RJ45 socket from this icon is quite
difficult as it's drawn in a heads-on 2D view, with a rather bad color
choice. IMHO, it's quite ugly and uninformative.

Personally I like that I am able to display Arabic characters should I
find myself at an Arabic website, purely for aesthetic reasons (as I
cannot read Arabic, but hate seeing hex blocks).

If that is the bug where carrier cannot be detected, yes.
I have not tried your new version surviving a reboot though. That was the
other main issue. I would have to hand re-apply though as a bunch of updates
came down and I forgot to flag SL-MODEM as a non-update.
