Hello I have just tried the 9.10 Alpha 5. The same failure is still there on both Ubuntu and Kubuntu. i.e. the CD install/Boot hands after a few seconds and the status indicator bar locks at about halfway through.
The same disks work fine on my Clevo laptop however and kudos on fixing the hitherto unrecognised Elantech touchpad drivers. This means that I shall be able to install Ubuntu on my Clevo laptop when the final version of 9.10 is available Regards Rowdy Rowdy Blakley wrote: > Hi > > All I am asking is that you fix what got broken in the LiveCD/Install > process in 8.10 and previous. > > Why can’t you just put the 8.10 install ‘bits’ into the current 9.04 and > 9.10 versions? > > You must know what you changed, surely? > > Regards > Rowdy > > > Rowdy Blakley wrote: >> Hello >> >> Thank you for the explanation, I understand. >> >> The latest version that works is my Kubuntu Live CD v 8.10. >> >> ubu...@ubuntu:~$ uname -a >> Linux ubuntu 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Fri Oct 24 06:42:44 UTC 2008 i686 >> GNU/Linux >> >> I have run dmseg and lspci commands as you direct.
