In my case I had bios set such that the killswitch only controlled
bluetooth; wifi was supposed to be always on.
The wireless monitor never saw the wifi device no matter what the
setting of the killswitch. iwconfig saw it fine, though, so I was able

What worked for me on Jaunty with 9.8 ATI driver. Go to Catalyst Control
Centre a select Always On for Vertical sync in 3D/Preferences section.
However, when I first tried this the X server froze. Then I updated
(flashed) the motherboard BIOS (Asus M3A78-EM) to the newest revision
and the freezing
Things that caught my eye: The -data package should better be renamed
-doc (since it has all the examples which you won't need at runtime
really); the rails.mo files look weird, and might not even belong into
that package in the first place.

Remove --manage-gids in /etc/default/nfs-kernel-server
I guess this problem will just surface more and more as people replace
the older Ubuntu server with newer systems. So I would look out for this
bug, maybe fix it before you get a ton of broken

Stefan, I've solved my problem by upgrading to 2.6.30. If you're
curious, then read on to find out how...
I tried 'pause_on_oops' but it didn't help. It looks like both 'cores'
of the hyper-threaded Atom CPU are both panic'ing at roughly the same
time. There was no way to prevent crap scrolling of

might be a start to making this acceptable.

Hi,
I again solved it but not sure exactly how! I restarted several times
but didn't work, then I open pulse volume manager and volume manager and
muted/unmuted everything. Then I open mixers (pulseaudio,oss, alsa) and
played with volumes. Finally, I noticed the sound is back without
restarting. I

I am not sure if this information is important, but after kernel change
to 2.6.31-7-generic, there is now 2 entries of old and new UUID for the
Hardy sda8 partition.
Under header of " Ubuntu Linux", it shows the new and correct UUID.
Under header of " Debian GNU/Linux", it shows the old and wrong
301 - 400 of 2359 matches
