Yes that is a bug in the kernel, that stops it compiling with older
compilers. I have had this fixed in mainline and the daily build below

firing, but rather /etc/acpi/start.d/90-hdparm.sh or similar. It'd be
best to get an strace of whichever hdparm -B command is being used in

Sorry I'm a complete noob.
I've installed ubuntu 9.04 and tried to fixing my starting problem with smc by
adding libcegui-mk2-dev
and trying xtknights first code, but still if I start smc via console I get the
following error message:

The crash originated from the LiveCD version of Jaunty. Upgrade to the
.12 release of the kernel fixes the crash, though I'm still left with
the occasional failure to connect to/disconnect from the wireless router

the previous comment suggestion has already been discussed but it's an
issue because non desktop users don't want they directory to be
cluttered with desktop templates and server guys etc refused to do such
changes

Andy thanks for the comments.
I can confirm point 1 straight away, there is only 1 RT attached to my
machine which is my USB Wireless device. There are no other wireless
devices intergrated or attached to my laptop.
Point 2 & 3 I shall have to do toinght and report back then.

That sounds like a band-aid solution. This must be broken either in code
or concept if it consumes so much resources. Why doesn't each package
installation add itself to a database, instead of having an indexing
monster run regularly even if no new package
N7DR, the bug has been resolved by no longer advertising epub support,
not by including epub support unfortunately. The reason for this is, so
that this package, which is in the main repository, does not depend on a
package in the universe repository (see
