I think the boot would be cleaner if GRUB 2 wouldn't draw anything by
default and just start the kernel. This would likely show the BIOS
screen with its logo or a blank screen instead of a technical menu which
most users shouldn't have to worry
I had implemented this in GRUB 1 as Ubuntu specific patches in the bzr repo,
but had a bug in the part preventing the clear screen. The issue was fixed by

playing around with embedding it into an Apache module on hardy and PHP
(5.2.4) causes it to segfault b/c it has it's own incompatible onig

I too am seeing this on an IBM T42 in the daily-live CD installer
downloaded on July 7th. It is much longer than a minute in the
installer, and there was an error regarding a udev worker exiting with
status 0 over and over again. Going into the BIOS and disabling Legacy
Floppy support is a workarou

Jesse, for me the file comes out correctly. Can you attach the PPD file
(from /etc/cups/ppd/) and an error_log of a job which comes out
incorrectly? For the error_log follow the instructions in the "CUPS

I have exactly the same problem as it appears on chrisi's screenshot
above, but with an ATI 7500 GPU (R100) on a Compaq Pressario 2800.
