I am unable to reproduce this issue. The only place that I have a System
Settings links is under Menu -> Computer -> Applications (at the top)
and under Favorites. I do not have System Settings under Menu ->
Applications -> System nor Settings.

This appears to be a problem caused by a Yahoo!, fixed by pidgin
upstream, but not yet propagated by the Ubuntu release team.
Apparently, Yahoo changed their protocol to use new authentication
methods. Pidgin has been updated (see notes about v2.5.7 in
http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/ChangeLog).

Skype dies regularly in Jaunty during voice use, the cpu hits 100% and
it has to be killed and restarted. Not sure if this is related to this
bug but it certainly coincides with it. bug 386817 is possibly related.

According to the mysqld apparmor profile, /home/mysql is not included.
However datadir is set to /home/mysql in datadir.cnf. You need to update
mysqld apparmor profile to allow access to /home/mysql/.

Quite a nasty bug you are experience there. Did you by any chance use a
KDE 4.2 pre-release? According to the Akonadi developers the migration
should have not been kicked-off in stable 4.2, although it was done in
pre-releases to accumulated testing.
