Yes, X runs correctly, but when playing a movie, only sound can be

Dear All,
i have one HP DV 3550 and i have the same problem
pressing the key regarding the backlight brightness the luminosity is
not be affected.
So if you disconnect the power cable, le brightness remain at 100% and
doen't go to 60% as requested.

Andreas you are wrong. The problem is very simple and my python patch
works GREAT on my system. If you speed up the fan, then the machine
works like a CHAMP. By default the fan is too fucking slow and the
machine overheats and dies. I'm going to stick with Ubuntu until I
get burned again. (No

I'm using the german version of the Apple USB keyboard (aluminium) and
had the same problem with the swapped to keys. To solve the problem once
and forever, i made a small kernel patch which disables the ISO layout
completely. The patch adds a new option (iso_layout) in the driver "hid-
apple.
Martin, your bug seemed to be a different bug which seems to be fixed
now. The original bug remains (can't cancel administrator password
prompt).

Update: with the nvidia driver, if I use TwinView everything works. No
stuck mouse on the secondary screen. It seems that the bug is indeed in
the X server packages somewhere.

In fact, it's a CRITICAL bug and it will be nice if it can be solved
quickly.
BUT I guess that forcing fan to it's maximum speed is not the right
hack. You could damage your fan in a long way.
I'm just waiting for this fix moving back to Intrepid Ibex. But, you can
