I've done a bit of reading and I think this is a memory leak bug in the
intel driver. I've been using the driver in UXA mode and recently
upgraded to the "optimal" driver in the guide in the forums. (Which
means I probably shouldn't be reporting bugs)

Just to let you know that I have the same problem BUT without KDE. I use
Ubuntu 9.04 with GNOME so it is probably not a KDE problem :

Although the undirect fullscreen windows fix worked for me, I still
believe that my bug has been marked as a duplicate of this one in error.
The author of this bug states that garbage appears on the screen when a
popup appears. In my case I can confirm that it is always the desktop
background.

When an installed package is selected from the package list, and the
user presses the delete key, the package is marked for deletion. The
problem is when there is text in the "Quick Search" textbox and the user
goes to delete some/all of the text
could you please try the package in karmic? If you're running jaunty,
there is a backport to test in the motumedia PPA.
the new package contains a much updated mplayer version, so many things
have changed a lot!

That's the problem... an operating system that is mostly maintained by a
community that consists largely of volunteers. Canonical have to employ
an Armada of developers, else this Distro will never get out of this
sittuation. Today its the sound, tomorrow the graphic card, etc...
Toto se bude muset nahlásit oproti danému programu, překladatelé s tím nic
neudělají. Mám ovšem problém zjistit, co to ten partitioner je za program. V
