In my understanding, using udevadm settle would be the right thing to
do. This makes sure udev has done all the processing and device nodes

Finally I could update my old intrepid with hardy kernel to jaunty using
your kernel.
And after cheating the NVIDIA Installer by copying your headers into the
default source files 2.6.29.4 dled from kernel.org I was able to install

I have been waiting for Debian to update it first but maybe there is no point.
First patch is diff of debian/ directory between 1.60-2ubuntu1 and
1.70-0ubuntu1.
There is some file movement (I have renamed launchpad_integration.patch to
01_lpi.patch)

I'm marking this invalid because Banshee 0.12.x is a very outdated
version. I don't believe this bug affects Banshee 0.98.x and above, but

i also have the Amilio xa2528, used installinux cd to install ubuntu 8.10 over
internet, upgraded it to 9.04,
everything works except the dvd-rom and webcam (wlan using the win drive
through ndiswrapper)
i found a config file that you should use on kernel 2.6.29.1 to make
the dvd-drive
I believe a fix is available in the debian package:

I got this bug and was directed here. For the record, I think it
occured for me because I had created the database from a complete
mysqldump of all databases - *including the mysql database* - from
another machine.
So the password for debian-sys-maint would have been set for the other

I tried now compiling a 2.6.23 and a 2.6.24, and the notebook came up fine with
both kernels.
I don't know it this is of any use, but i'll attach the .config file I compiled
the 2.6.24 with.
I also tried a 2.6.28, and it doesn't lock up at boot anymore, but when
i log on into gnome, it freezes.
It really fix my problem. Thank you Carlos Ramos.
