Based on a friends Ubuntu 7.04 content of /etc/modules containing fuse,
which I have no idea what it pertains to, I added that entry also to my
Ubuntu 9.04 /etc/modules and found that my ntfs external drive would
then mount. I unmounted, unplugged the drive and plugged it back in and

could be that gvfs-fuse-daemon is crashing, debian is not using gvfs yet
if you tried on lenny so not a surprise that it behaves differently, to
debug by somebody having the issue I can't confirm the bug and we got no
other bugs about this issue
