I cannot agree more with the original author. I have been a long time
MS user and loaded up Ubuntu for kicks. My Mouse seems to freeze due to
what I think is a IRQ conflict(?) Keyboard still works. The most basic
services/ features have to work ALWAYS if you want to grow your
community.

handling and isn't hard to fix if it's using cairo rendering already for
pdf files. It's just a matter of rendering vs rasterising ordering.

I am also having this issue. 100% of the time, if the SD card is
mounted, then the system will lock when put to sleep. Best I can tell,
it is trying to put the SD card to sleep, and cannot due to it being
mounted. Unmounting the SD card by hand just prior to sleeping the
system works, also 100%.

I am seeing this issue too. I'm using a laptop with a fully crypted hard
disk, including swap. Typing in this report is actually quite annoying

Yep I can confirm that I can reproduce the problem by just adding i915
to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules and updating my initrd, drm needs to
load earlier than it does if you leave it out or else you get the drm
open problems and it falls back to swrast. It's fixed as of debian's
initramfs-tools .93-
Same problem here on two out of two boxes. In uno case upgraded from
8.04 in another from 8.10. Both boxes using an Nvidia card.
I vote for high priority too.

I am not too sure about this, it seems that it is trying to make 2 copies of
the same file in the makeisofs command before it burns, which is where the
problem is. I shall edit out the email address in the log and remark this as
Public so other people can have a look and see if they have the sam
... "there is no Direct Rendering any more" - my mistake!!! but:
1) adding "i915 modeset=1" ONLY to /etc/modules in my case did NOTHING really.
No KMS at all
2) adding "intel_agp drm i915 modeset=1" to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules and
update on initrd WORKS! - I have KMS and Direct Rendering! I

it's not made with wubi, but with uSbuntu live creator. it make bootable

Did you still have i915 loading via initramfs-tools when you tried
editing /etc/modules? from the previous reports it sounds like that was
the case. If you use a mainline PPA kernel you'll have to add all 3 in
that order to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules to get it to work, the patch

Yes .. all via initramfs-tools. Now I can see also about 400% speed up
with glxgears. Previously I had around 60FPS, now I have around 280 FPS
and counting ;)

Thanks for reporting this helping to make Ubuntu better. I'm not quite
sure, what you tried to do and can't reproduce the problem.
If I start a new profile, I'm asked what I want to do - create mail
account. Then I have to enter my name and my mailadress. the next tab
asks me for the server adress
I will update to latest and get it in Karmic if i have enough time for
this dev cycle.
