in the 9.04 Ubuntu distribution, Kile is using KDE4, while kbibtek is

changing of performance? After using the pc for anytime from 1 hours to
6 hours, when performance is generally sluggish on flash video and
firefox scrolling, out of nowhere performance just explodes and

also found this is directly related to the cross-fading feature of

Similar to Matthias, I have worked around this by removing Network
Manager and installing Wicd instead. The benefit that Wicd gives is that
you can specify which AP to latch on to. This has completely eliminated

I can confirm that as a problem with KPackageKit, a new software manager
in KDE4's SystemSettings, which is unable to display license dialog with
confirmation request. It says about the problem when checking "Details"

This isn't a fast-user-switch-applet bug. It doesn't do anything that
makes the system beep, and nothing that changed between those versions
would cause this anyway. All the FUSA does when you ask it to shut down
is send a message to gnome-session to tell it to shut down.
That said, I don't know w
FWIW, I get multiple beeps on shutdown, and it seems to correspond to
the multiple broadcast messages that appear on one of the consoles when
the machine shuts down.

glipper.pc having a faulty .pc file error message complained about
glipper.pc having no Name field, as a result it would not list my lib I
fixed glibber.pc and the problem went away

Hi,
as I wrote, there was no more problem, since I used Kernel 2.6.27-11 even if I
enabled HPET (High Precision Event Timer) in BIOS.
Now I switched to 9.04, where all is fine, too, and I'm not able to give more
informations on this bug.
