Hi!
I've written a small C program which pops up notifications about changes in the
sound. It has two major advantages over the script here:
1) much less CPU intensive as it doesn't require executing external
applications and so on.
2) it detaches itself automatically from the controlling termin

Guys, this doesn't affect just Ubuntu, it happens on Windows machines
also.
As annoying as this bug is, it is just that... annoying. It is not
damaging to the system, and the workaround of holing the mouse button
down until the menu appears instead of pressing it quickly is hardly a
show-stopper.
I have the same problem with a lot of my iso files.
There are no spaces in my file names. I made a few tests and I always get
this error when I try to mount DVD iso's generated with k9copy.

This is most likely because Swing hardcodes a list of non-parenting
window managers. If the WM is such but is not in the Swing list, bugs

I can confirm these findings on my Ubuntu 9.04 + Nvidia driver GeForce
8600 as well. Also not only does it reduce CPU consumption if I switch

Same effect, I think its because in Gnome 2.26.1 it uses "color" to see
what tabs/files/folders etc.. is in focus (see attachment).. In Ubuntu
8.10 it used to use doted lines around the tab and now it uses
colors.

I've managed to get around this problem by installing an old Linksys NIC
in one of the PCI slots and telling bios to ignore the onboard NIC.
Apparently a different driver is installed...
I happened to grab a SUSE .iso 64 bit cd and went with it cause for once

This still happens in official release. I expect that when I click a
wireless network, network manager should try connecting if there is a
saved setting for that ssid and ask details only if it is used first
time or settings are not valid anymore.

I cannot reproduce this bug.
I have two hosts too. I tried installing, reinstalling, removing+purging and
installing, and it works fine.
It says:
Auto configuration for Linux client of no-ip.com.
2 hosts are registered to this account.
Host x selected.
Host y selected.

This bug may or may not affect me too; I only get the artifacts after
resuming from hibernate though, not resuming after suspending to RAM.
The TTYs do work after restarting the system.
Common-ish factor seems to be the ATI card; I have a Raedon X1200.

Hi I am new to the world of linux.
I tried to solve the problem with:
'if you want to create an mp4 file with ACC sound and H264, unstripped libs of
ffmpeg are mandatory. You must install them manually, like I did :

Upgraded to 9.04 and have no issues changing the resolution.

I have the same problem on an core2duo Thinkpad with i965 graphics and
9.04 64bit. More important to me are problems with the the program
Pymol, which is usuable because of the garbled graphics. I recompiled
Pymol from source and found the same problems, so I am fairly certain
the issue lies in
I'm getting the same problem using jaunty with the same version of
flashplugin-nonfree.
My CPU usage jumps to 100% when a play a video using flash in firefox (not
fullscreen).
