setxkbmap does work for me to work around the issue. but as it occurs ever time

As per instructions here, I removed everything associated with
"Acroread" using the Synaptics Package Manager and then I used Ubuntu
Tweak (the newest version, installed this morning) to remove every
remaining trace of Acroread (as well as everything else found there
which was available for removin

the DVD, and it seems to have all the necessary files. I boot, hit F9, select
the DVD. It flashes for as while, but then I get booted off of the hard disk.
What could be wrong?

''), the brackets are highlighted - as they should. However, when I
move the cursor after that, the brackets stay highlighted instead of

I can boot off of the old Ubuntu DVD, so something is wrong with the
9.04 beta distro. My burning program did check thye DVD after burning
too. And I made it from the ISO properly. The distro files are all there
on the DVD. But it seems to not be bootable.
