Public bug reported:

(kubuntu 8.10 amd64) see the device correctly (6 axes and 12 buttons), but wine
doesn't because it gives the following error:

OK, I see it now. In fact, I don't even have to change my locale, just
the terminal encoding (at least on gnome-terminal).
I'm marking it as confirmed but assigned to nobody, because honestly I
don't know how to fix it right now, and I have other things on my plate
that are more urgent for me. W

Why is this just a wish-list?
Having OpenGL x20 slower is a High importance (ok, at least Medium -
considering that using 2 desktops is less popular)

Binary package hint: midori
Midori could really use a private browsing mode like Firefox or
incognito mode as Chrome calls it. Being able to enable this on a per-
tab basis is important as well. When in this stealth mode, browser and
download history is not saved and cookies
I also confirm that the patch works - Asus m51se with 3GB physical
memory, patch applied to 2.6.27-11 and 64bit kernel built and installed
and booting to full GUI fine now.

I've uploaded a test debug package to my PPA for you to gather more
information. To capture the debug information you need to use a 'trick'
which I'll detail here.
1. Install the package
2. Kill (don't remove) the running version but *don't* press any button
the resulting "reload applet" button!
> Hi Tormod, still seeing this problem in Jaunty?
Bryce, sorry, I have been running without compiz since then, to get
things done :) I have tried compiz (and googleearth) today and haven't
had any trouble. I will close the bug in a few days if it keeps working.
