Repeated the same operation and gedit died again.
Here's the actions to follow:
* Get an sql dump file (less than 1MB)
* find table's prefix (should look like `prefix_mytablename`)
* search and replace "`prefix_" with a new prefix like this "`newprefix_"
* wait a couple of seconds, aftre what apport will bring you to this page. :(

As I said already, I'm using Jaunty with the latest updates.
