Same problem here too. Mplayer plays just one frame after resuming from pause,
then stops.
To continue i have to "seek" back or forth.
Using ALSA instead of PulseAudio fixes the problem.

I believe i've found the problem (it's been a week without the disk
freezing ... and i've been doing a lot of tests under heavy load).
It seems that the problem is related to "pdflush", i guess the default
parameters (the ones that came with my original Ubuntu installation
(first 8.04 and later 8.
This bug is not fixed in Hardy. I just attempted to install deluge-
torrent and it would not run without manually installing x11-dbus.
Hardy is LTS will this ever be fixed?

This was addressed a while ago and isn't in the current trunk - the
phrase now reads:
"Should an application crash in Ubuntu it will not lock up the desktop,
causing data loss from other open applications."

For my Transit USB I replaced the following line in
/lib/udev/rules.d/42-madfuload.rules:

Fixed this issue using new wireless-compat drivers from:

When will the .50 kernel appear in proposed? I can only test until april
23, because I will replace 8.04 Hardy by 9.04 Jaunty then, on my Acer
Aspire One. Mainly because the Atheros wireless chipset will work out of
the box in Jaunty.

Yeah, this is a general problem with system tray widgets placed outside
a Plasma panel. The situation has improved in KDE 4.2, but it's still
not perfect.

I am using Jaunty with all updates applied. I cannot play DVDs; when
trying to do so in Totem I get the message "Could not open location; you
might not have permission to open the file.". The following appears in
