OK, the Eee's been running for about two days now, and no VGA-out
blanking. This is with "stock" Intrepid, upgraded from Hardy.
I think upgrading to 8.10 fixed it. That doesn't really help the folks
who are running Hardy, but my 1000H is working fine, ergo problem solved

You misunderstand the notification bar, it is actually abused for
minimizing of different kind, eg when you want to seperate a window from
the taskbar.
What it really needed is second official taskbar, that contatins only
icons, and put there all applicatio

I tested this issue in Intrepid live but the things are worse as I
wasn't able to record a movie through cheese. In fact as soon as I
pressed the "record" button cheese seemed to hang up (the cheese screen
became black and the "stop" button didn't work and the only solution was
to kill the app).

intrepid popping up a dialog with nonsense on it, at which point I force

I found the problem it has to do with the reverse mapping in xmodmap. So
keycodes are just badly mapped it remove to bad mapping fixes the
problem with the program xev you can figure out what the bad keycode is.

I'm experiencing this problem as well. Printing recipes from the main
Gourmet Recipe Manager window yields no results at all, while printing
an individual recipe card to PDF either results in a blank file or none
at all.
You both mention that this is fixed in 0.14.2. I have 0.14.0. Should I
add

appear in own window instead appearing in the panel. If I close the
window a new window will be opened. Have a look at the screen shot.

related to the Bios bug message you are getting at startup.

Suspend and resume is such a sad joke on linux, how many more decades will it

wow, it worked for me (still don't believe it, maybe recent updates helped)
the LCD was in "off" mode, and the Totem and Vlc were playing parallely
(well after resume I have sound problems, but that's differnent story)
