I should add that this root-gpm can appear at any time, even when my gpm
has not crashed at all. I notice this second daemon coming in because my
backlight suddently starts to increase until 100%.
When I kill the root-daemon, my back light does not come back to my gpm

Hi I seem to hit this bug too.
When gpm crashes (my battery was discharging), I can relaunch it with
"gnome-power-manager --verbose --no-daemon", after having plugged AC in,
and it seems stable (it hasn't recrashed since manual launch). At
relaunch, it shows 11% battery.

Using the Intrepid Ibex CD Rom, with last updates, the problem is still
present. Attached is the xorg.conf file used (which was working well on
Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron), and the Xorg.0.log.
My config is 2 8800 GTX with nvidia-glx-173.

Intrepid, the screen-saver not only fails to come on (it will queue up
as it it will come on and as soon as the screen goes black, the process
is interrupted, as described above), but the screen itself wont turn off

Same here. Tracker does not respect the "pause" option. Also, after it
has indexed the files, it starts indexing files again when the computer
is restarted. In general, trackerd does not respect the user at all.

I believe I'm having this issue in Intrepid as well. I cannot connect to
a password protected share using gvfs-mount from either the command line
or via nautilus, but I am able to using smbmount. I can connect through
gvfs-mount if it is not password protected. This was not an issue in
Hardy.

I think this is actually an interesting bug, but its not on rosegarden.
dolphin in hardy was (quite sensibly) only an rdepend of kubuntu-
desktop. Now, it is an rdepends of: kubuntu-desktop AND kdebase-dev +
kdebase-bin + kdebase. Personally, I think that it is a nonsense to
oblige users to drag h

To add more precisions to my previous post.
I've installed Intrepid Ibex using the alternate install beta for x86.
My xorg.conf is for 3 screen: 2 21" crt and 1 17" crt. The Driver
sections contains BusID values. The xorg.conf was working in Ubuntu 8.04
Hardy Heron.
For X to work, Driver section
the issue is fixed in the current intrepid version
