I did recently have the very same problem. I used to dual-boot a
Notebook with Ubuntu and Windows XP while Windows XP was often in
hibernate mode. While I don't think this is a bug in Ubuntu but rather a
bug/feature in Windows it is still a very important issue.

Now, I'm very new to this, but I've just done the 8.10 upgrade, and my lspci |
grep ricoh output is identical to those listed above. Dell Vostro 1700.
Everything I've seen on the web in the last hour leads me to believe that it's
impossible to read xd cards with a built in reader using gnu/linux.
Deleting the Pid file made no difference.
I used "sudo top" and killed the two Mysql_safe processes and all is ok
now.
If and when it returns I will post the conditions of return.
I hope these clues help to squish the bug.

As things stand in Kubuntu Intrepid, Adept does not have an option to
re-install packages like Synaptic does. I don't know if this is a bug or
an intentional oversight due to lack of time (wishlist material), but I
thought I'd put it on here either

The original source tar.gz contains a debian/files file, which prevents
building of lazarus-ide on i386 [1][2].
I am working on this issue and will provide a patch or other solution

If yes, can you type:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall nvidia-177-kernel-source
and attach your /var/lib/dkms/nvidia/177.76/build/make.log ?

I upgraded to the new kernel,
and it seems like it worked.
I added the ibex line to my sources.list,
then I updatet just the kernel part,
then I removed the ibex line from the sources.list.
I don't think this way of doing it is recommended though.
