I have the same problem with a Mitsumi CR-ROM drive, model CRMC-FX4830T.
Rythmbox automatically starts on insertion of an audio CD, so even if I
wanted to use another player, the auto-ejection by Rythmbox prevents it.

I can confirm bvidinli_ehcp's steps work. To clarify a bit -
(1) Load the recovery mode for the latest installed kernel on the GRUB boot list
(2) When the recovery menu loads, select the option "Drop to root shell" (or
whatever it says to that effect)

I have no success with a MSI DigiVOX A/D II so far. Even under Gutsy it

Same problem here. I notice that svn is now linked against gnutls via
libneon27-gnutls (used to be openssl via libneon26/27?), I dont know if
that makes any difference as to what location svn will look for CA
certs?
I tried briefly now to use strace to see what is going on, and got even
more confu

The machine (Thinkpad R61i) supports both sleep and hibernation (they
worked nicely under KDE 3.5.9 in Hardy), nevertheless in the "Leave" tab
there are no options to sleep or hibernate.

Hello.
If you merely want the functionality to be there, check out the logout
applet that appears after you click on one of the options of the leave
tab. If you press and hold the shutdown button in that applet, then you
will see Suspend to RAM and Suspend to Disk. "Suspend to Disk" =
"Hibernate".
