filing such a bug report myself. While it's also useful to have less
emphasize on minimized icons I think the current visualization of
minimized icons are just too hard to distinguish because they are too
much "faded to gray".

Adding my voice as well, and asking about workarounds.
I ran into the same problem with installing 8.04.1 server onto a USB
disk for use with a VIA CPU for a low power, silent, personal server.

I don't really think that "Show only applications that come with full
technical and security support by Canonical Ltd." implies that only
Canonical maintains the software. I think it's reasonable to accept that
maintenance and support are two different concepts all together. Perhaps
"Canonical-main
go to your home folder and highlight the affected folder (for example
'Pictures'). right click on it and choose properties. go to the "open
with" tab and make sure the setting reads open folder and not Totem.
that should do the trick. then do the same for any other affected folder.

I've come to the conclusion that it's an hardware problem. In case of

Andreas: yes, it is still an issue in my current (fully updated) Hardy.
I don't have an Intrepid alpha running, so I don't know if Intrepid
fixes it; but it would be nice to see a fix for Hardy anyway.

I have the same problem, since some month.
What do you mean with "delete all files called inbox"? It is not possible to
delete the inbox. Messages deleting of course, but deleting the file inbox file
is deactivated.
