Hi Leann,
thanks for your suggestion, but still the scsi-subsystem ist used and limits
the partition number to 15.
The only difference I can see in dmesg is that "ata_generic" instead of
"pata_via" gets loaded.

I disagree with Steve MacDonald - I experienced this same bug on Gutsy.
For Prot: my workaround has been to install the older version and lock
it in Synaptic so it doesn't get overwritten... though it eventually
will and you'll have to yank it out and install your (hopefully) saved
older .deb and

Well nothing that anyone has suggested worked.
I went back to 7.10 and guess what happens?
Everything works, the webcam just works, without having to do a lot of
codding work. just plug and play.
So now My Question is What the hell is wrong with 8.04??

You have to check that when you start the system, the correct module gets
loaded at boot tim
The main point would be to make this part of kubuntu-kde4-desktop, so it
is that way by default, just like the KDE3 version of Kubuntu. Without
it, Kubuntu-KDE4 looks silly in comparison.
