Expected behavior a normal user wouldn't uninstall KDM, and in case
he does, we can't help him anyway. At least at next logout he will get
stuck on a VT eitherway.

I've just tested on an up-to-date hardy, cannot read the attached PDF
with evince without poppler-data installed, but can read it after having
installed poppler-data. Note that there are some licensing concerns
with poppler-data: specifically that modification is prohibited. This

As I already mentioned above the recently used files list is rewritten
when quitting the last level of the GTK main loop, that is
gtk_main_loop_level reaches 0. However the write happens only if the
recent manager singleton exists which appears to be created lazily on
the first invocation of GtkFil

changing system, preferences, sounds, music and video to use alsa and
stopping pulseaudio makes a difference?
