Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nvidia-settings

I have a Toshiba M200 portege and a MacBookPro.
I was using an external LCD monitor with the Toshiba M200 and Ubuntu for weeks
(connected on VGA).
With the MacBookPro I used the same external LCD monitor with no problem with
MacOS and Windows XP (using DVI).
Then I use nvidia-settings with ubuntu on the MacBookPro (yes, triple boot): no
problem, it detected the external monitor with the correct settings (model,
resolution...).
So I had tried nvidia-settings on the Toshiba M200 because I want to change
configuration without restarting X every time.
It worked the first time. The next day I connected the MacBookPro to external
LCD monitor and from Windows, Ubuntu and MacOS it didn't detect the external
LCD monitor!
So I connected it to M200 and now I can only use it with nvidia-settings but
only with 640x480 resolution. It doesn't detect the correct model and settings.
(it is a 24'' 1920x1200 monitor). And it doesn't work also with the old
xorg.conf file that had worked for weeks.

HELP!
