Amarok was auto-detecting the sound device and when doing so would not
release control of the sound to any other programs until Amarok was

The actual terminal output of the failure might be nice. This could
easily be breakage from 3 areas:
1) A web server that doesn't properly serve files over 2GB.
2) apt unable to correctly deal with large files.
3) dpkg unable to correctly deal with large files.

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
I use the -P flag to start firefox with different profiles depending on what I
am using it for (it separates cookies, history, and preferences).
This flag does not work in Hardy with firefox 3.0 anymore.
examples of use:
firefox -P default
here is a sanitized version of the patch against our 2.22.2 version that
supresses any UI changes and adds the disable_movement gconf keys for
the top and bottom panel by default

One more note: if I start up Firefox first, watch a video or something,
and then close the tab with that video, if I then start up Banshee, then
it has sound.
(I'm guessing Banshee is doing something bad here, but I don't know what
that is.)

I am sorry my comments have been misunderstandable and caused this bug to be
set to invalid even if it may be valid.
My first comment was made to point to solution, that is possible with new
kernels.
The second to point out that USB_PERSIST should better be patched to check USB
IDs when somone
My comments did not describe an implemented design, but pointed to a
possibility to fix this in ubuntu.

I just successfully installed / compiled the test 2232 build directly
from Parallels on the -19 kernel.

Attached is the output from this version's parallels-config. Not at all
the
gvfs-ls works as ls, for gvfs shares. You must have gvfs-bin installed in order
to use it.
