That is not the correct way to set a page number for a document. To do go to:
Format->Paragraph->Text Flow->Breaks->Insert also add a page number in the
footer. I'm not sure if it will allow you to use a negative offset in any case.

You are a genius. I've removed wins from the hosts: files mdns4_minimal
[NOTFOUND=return] dns mdns4 wins line in /etc/nsswitch.conf, and I can now
connect by name.

(same motherboard asus p5k-e). I switched today to 8.10 and

Ok, I've redone a fresh install of Xubuntu Hardy 8.04.1.
Then I ran
- apt-get update
- apt-get upgrade (it downloaded a update of restricted-modules)
- apt-get install mesa-utils
Reboot (just for purity)
Then:
- Applications > System > Hardware Drivers, I enabled ATI accelerated graphics
driver

When I remove WINS from nsswitch.conf, this breaks browsing entirely for
me. Ping by name also fails - resolution is incorrect because of
OpenDNS.
It seems I can connect and ping by name if I use the "servername.local"
instead of "servername", even though I don't define the domain of my
computers
It seems I am having the same problem with 8.04 running
2.6.24-19-generic. Is there a way to resurrect this as a current bug?

David, FYI I upgraded from Gutsy (7.10) to Hardy, I run vnc4server via a
WAN (over ssh tunnel), and use inetd (not xinetd) to launch vnc
sessions. So that takes 3 of 4 commonalities out of the mix.

I've recently encountered problems with PulseAudio in SDL apps. My current
setting is to install libsdl-all and setting SDL_AUDIODRIVER depending on the
application I want to launch (thus, I have to launch them manually or create
scripts, as with libsdl-all ALSA supercedes ESD/PulseAudio and it
alright, so questions about the issue:
- does smbclient browse the share correctly? gvfs didn't change a lot in
intrepid but samba 3.2 has been uploaded to it could be a samba issue
- does gvfs-mount smb://server/share works correctly?
- if you run /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r on a command line before t

Pressing shift+^ should work but it is not a good solution. The problem
is because you need to press ^ key twice to open console but
unfortunately it does not work in tremulous. Maybe someone else has a
solution of this problem?
