After some more testing, I've got the jumpy mouse behavior described

I was using NFSv3 happily with my Ubuntu Hardy client from my Ubuntu
Gutsy server, and I received a Permission denied error when trying to
copy some stuff over - no big deal, log into the server and chown the
entire directory.
Then NFS for that mountpoint stopped responding,
Incidentally, I can reliably replicate this by trying to mount that NFS
share again via Autofs. It appears to work, but as soon as I try to tab
complete the mountpoint, my machine fails to tab complete it, and
suddenly dmesg gets another Oops...

I changed an option in the Multimedia Systems Selctor that was initially
set to Autodetect and I changed plugin option to X Window System (No Xv)
and Totem stopped hanging and I can play videos perfectly now. I'm not
sure why this changed anything but I'm definately glad it did.

intrepid. I tested the packages in a kvm instance, obviously without
wpasupplicant.
My current guess what's going wrong here:

Pictures and graphics not shown in the normal interface. Only a grey box with
the text "graphic". In the print preview mode and in the exported pdf we can
see all pictures aund praphics. I think that happend after the last update.

Still, the remark stands. Given the suspend/resume problems you were
also experiencing, I would check out power management issues before we
settle for a "simple" driver fix - ACPI is still somewhat of a rocky
boat under Hardy, I guess.
