Oddly, I reproduced the error also with 2GB microSD card with SD adapter. This adapter happens to have "LOCK" swich on the side. With LOCK enabled, I could use the disk with Vista just fine, but in Linux this microSD card was Read-Only. With LOCK disabled, Vista were just fine read-write as usual
