Ok. On current hardy, the problem seems to be even more about the gnome-
settings-daemon's mouse plugin than keyboard plugin. Unsetting apps ->
gnome_settings_daemon -> plugins -> mouse -> active gives me themed VNC
session already, but it gnome-settings-daemon crashes often when doing
anything wit

Hm...Martin, this is a laptop. No cabling problems. I think I may have
had a CD in there instead of a DVD; both were brand new, "blank" media.
I can put in a DVD I've burned or a commercial movie, any CD I've put
anything on or a mass-produced music CD - and all is fine. It's the new,
"blank" media
Andrew just an update but im finishing up on 0.8 for Hardy-backports by
fixing/closng bugs either fixed in 0.8 or im working on for 0.8 i should
be done and will push to PPA before someone pushes the package into

I had a similar problem with my pbuilder environment. The problem was
that universe and multiverse repos was not enabled. I fixed that with
the following command:
$ sudo pbuilder update --other-mirror "deb

same issure here. Thinkpad T60 using 2.6.24-19-generic kernel. It's
kinda random when the system freezes, but nearly every time when the
ethernet device is under heavy load e.g. copying large files in LAN (1gb
at 4mb/s++) but it freezes too if I just use another system as internet

unbearably hot. If I boot into XP, the temperature is normal.
I'm turning off all power management for now.

3:0.cvs20070307-5ubuntu7 in 8.04 and the PPA's
3:0.svn20080206-8ubuntu1~ppa1~hardy1. I'm not even clear the bug is in

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 for the 32-bit architecture and I've only tested
the bug on MP3 files. Renaming a file so as to remove the "+" solves
the problem.
I've attached a screenshot of the window that appears when I try to open
a file named "O Teatro Mágico - Camarada d'água+.mp3". As re

Just so I am clear, have you changed the default browser under: Tools
-> Preferences -> Network -> Configure Browser and it still opens
firefox when checking your hotmail under the accounts submenu?
