Ok. Just ran FF through GDB. On my HP laptop (intel video) it, strangely
enough, gave me XError and exited, although it didn't throw it at me before. So
it doesn't seem to be specific X driver.
On ASUS it actually allowed me to get some backtrace output, which is attached.
But XError persists.
As another data point 8.04 server installed in VBox 1.6.0 provides same.

Firefox 3 RC2 (3.0+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1) crashes
nondeterministically but often (on my desktop machine). One site that
causes the crash often (cca. once every 5 visits) is gmail. (It seems to
work just fine on my laptop.)

Since I had the same problem and didn't find a complete Solution on the Net.
So, I wanted to share my solution with other people having this problem.
The Problem is:
I am running a dapper version of Ubuntu. Since some piece of software (e.g.
Nagios2) requires a newer version, someone a

on.

I'm closing this report, as it looks like there's no real problem (if
you want to auto-start fusion-icon you should indeed use "--no-start" or
"-n", this is how it works).
Feel free to re-open it if there is indeed some problem that I

I just tried what you said.
BTW my kernel is a fresh -19 source (from repos) with my patch added.
I booted up with power in and did a hibernate, then when the machine was
completely off I removed the power and booted back up.
I have no kernel errors or oops or anything dis ordinary in dmesg.

It seems to be that nm-applet is having problems obtaining the network
key from the gnome keyring. When I first attempted to use wireless the
tray icon would animate and flash green and ask for the wireless key
every minute or so. Then I opened the manual setup f
