Alexader im see that alot in bugs. they upgrade the profile becomes in
some way corrupt and if at all possible we should test state of profile
before the package is upgraded to tell it either its ok or not but that
is something that sounds like it wont work either but an idea simular

This happened in 7.10, I upgraded to 8.04 mostly because I hoped to get
rid of it. It happened today to kubuntu 8.04 with today's latest
updates. The X configuration is untouched by me, the X log file is
uninformative (but not appended this time, see below).

Wayne, what do you recommend to do? What exact bug has to be tracked? This very
one states confirmed (this is good) and triaged (does not sound as good).
Do you recommend to install the backports package and wait TLS to honour the
'S' in its acronym? How in earth has this been possible to happen

i installed firefox and much more apps but it's not displaying in my main menu,

I'm not a coder myself... I had a quick look to the source code in Hardy
(8.04) here

I would say: copy the patch in /usr/src/modules , then
