Actually, this is not currently reproducible on my system. It had been
remedied for a while once, before my initial bug report, only to break
again. But since a couple of weeks before Hardy release date (not sure
exactly when) it has been working flawlessly.

It shouldn't be removed and the menu entry should be put back. Many resolution
issues have been solved in Hardy with this tool. Also, devs recommended this
tool when people complained that "dpkg-reconfigure" didn't let them change
driver and resolution settings in Hardy.

I disabled audio capture in xvidcap and testing recording - this time no
crash. Currently xvidcap is set to use /dev/dsp on my system. Not sure

So I ran gdb and was able to reproduce the condition: simply enter text
into OOo Writer, sooner or later X hangs.
Attached: gbd backtrace, xorg.conf, Xorg.0.log, plus lspci -vvnn, but
lspci run from debian etch on the same machine, other of course from

It's not the initial login screen, it's the screensaver password entry
that has the problem. When I click on change user on the screensaver
entry screen it takes me back out to the initial login, which works

The problem is solved now after I installed amule-utils-gui . I don't know if

I just tried the upgrade on my Desktop and it hung.
So I thought I'd disabled accessibility (AT-SPI) and guess what, it works.
So that definitely indicates you are on the right track.
