I see just ran the same problem after upgrading from GG to HH (Actual 8.04

Ctrl-Alt-L stopped working.
It is config'd as a keyboard shortcut for Lock Screen but doesn't work.
I tried defining it again, but it didn't work better any after that.

I have now tried to remove all packages that are named *cups* (did it in
a console session without X running because I was forced to remove a lot
of packages that depended on cupsys) and also ran dpkg --purge
. Removed /etc/cups completely then reinstalled all
packages again. Rebooted the computer

In general, the live CD cannot preserve any changes you do to any files,
documents, etc. So the intended way is to set up the Broadcom driver
*after* installation.
However, we do have some hacks in place to copy over some drivers. But
this does not work for installed firmware at the moment. Would

Solves the issue. Issue is related to improperly set ls_level for light sensor
on asus laptop.

This is also an issue with KDE and Amarok and kdesktop, etc. It is
annoying to have to unlock my session just to mute Amarok. I'm not sure
where the solution lies, though. I'm guessing it would involve the
screensaver or locking app letting certain keys through the lock.

Actually, running firefox-3.0 at the command line revealed that totem
was handling the stream and failing dismally. Removing totem and helix
player and making sure that mplayer was installed fixed it for me. This

I red a lot of these comments and I have the same problem. I would say, that it
isnt a problem of usplash - or splashy - its only the problem of the restricted
driver. I added my infos from lspci to one of my last comments - so I wont do
that again.

installed).
It shows:
0,05/256=0,0,001,953,125
but if I copy the result from edit -> copy, I get it correct: 0,0001953125
0,05*256=1,2,8

Why did you change the permissions of /usr/bin/dpkg? Normal users should
be able to run it. Please set it back to the default

This is because the panel icon is a personal setting. If you upgrade
from one version of Xubuntu to another, personal settings are not
overwritten (it would be quite annoying to have all your settings
overwritten to defaults, wouldn't it? :). On a clean install, the icon
is correct.

I can replicate the bug.
I noticed that with Kubuntu 7.10 and 8.04 (KDE 3.x.x) on 4 different hardware
platforms.
With Konqueror all is ok.

I upgraded Xubuntu 7.10 to 8.04. I did install and remove keytouch a
couple of times, but at least that did not help.
