without any "success or error installation" message. The progress status

system with an Geforce 8600 GT since I upgraded my Gutsy install to
Hardy. It is actually a pretty severe bug, since your first impression
of Ubuntu is pretty bad if you can only see the borders and controls of
the active window.

On a 100GB hard disk on my laptop I created a partition (ext3) of
35000MB mounted on /home. The installer tells me that there is not
enough space for /home and that I should reconsider to resize it. I

Well Scott puts it a bit strong, but I do agree with him.
The previous version was perfect. I'm really baffled why
1) This was changed in the first place after all the positive comments in the
forums.
2) The deadline of the art was not respected.
3) Worst of all, this bug is completely ignored:
Burning image from USB Flash drive using Xfburn 0.3.0~svn1-1 worked.
(Burning was slow, though. Maybe it didn't take the desired 4x speed

xmms is not directly installable. Streamtuner is a perfect icebreaker
for windows user, for them it is unimageable to get so quick and easy
such a good software. I show it very often. But if I have to change
I confirm this bug. For me it happend with the Hardy RC as well as with
a perfectly fresh installation of the final Hardy Heron. In every case
it seems to happen only the first time you open that preferences window.
That took more than 5 minutes for me. Now when i do it again it works
fine within a

I updated 2 PCs from 7.10 to 8.04 and got the same problem on both
machines.
Reinstalling the sun-java6-jre with apt did not help either.
I am using sun-java6-jre version 6-06-0ubuntu1.
Very annouying - any advice how to narrow down the root-cause?

[hardy] OOo Base will not connect to MySQ
The file keeps growing to previous size if the phishing and attack site
filter isn't disabled.
If the file can be compressed well maybe it is a good idea to upload it
here so that the devs can retrace it. With 7z my 22 MB file is reduced
to 5.7 MB. I don't know if it is too much for Launchpad but
same problem with apple alu usb keyboard connected to a regular PC (not
apple computer).
