My Login Manager plays all sounds full lenght, though. So me and Olek
seem to only partially share this problem.
I use Ubuntu Gutsy, installed on a desktop with an Intel Celeron CPU at

I haven't used the updater since then - just started 'apt-get -f
install' and it did everything automatically for me. With just two
system restarts I've finally got 'hardy'. 'Adept' crashes sometimes,
when upgrading >10 packages at once, but 'apt-get' works flawlessly.

I exported a document from oowriter to pdf (evince). The pdf did not
show up hypens, speech marks - thus leaving obvious gaps in the
document. expected all markings to be present.

I'm afraid my good luck was short lived. It appeared to work the first
few times, then I re-applied my screen resolution settings and opened
another document and the pages are are tiny again.
