I rebooted in the -15 kernel and saved a copy of /var/log/udev to my
$home but as far as i can see on the timestamp it hasn't been touched
during boot time. Furthermore, I am too much of a noob to understad the
log good enough to make sense of it. Nevertheless, here it is :-)

OK, I found out something rather interesting.
I saw an anomaly using the -r switch.
IF the server's description text is more than 3 characters, then the
reply would fail.
It would appear that the buffer is too small to hold this string.
For verbosity, I have made the reply name 1234567890, then
I must also add in that '/usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r' appears only to be
doing something when the connection is to a remote server. Somehow local
connections do not create an entry..

The ubuntu firefox people still won't admit that this is a bug. Mark
my words. It will be the scar on the face of hardy and be present for

I am able to run TuxGuitar but first I must manually install sun-
java6-jre package.
I look at TuxGuitar (0.9.1.4ubuntu1) dependencies and it contains

I triple-checked on hardy, and if you remove network manager and
configure only one network interface (the wireless one) with a hidden
ESSID entered in gnome's network-admin (in dhcp mode, at least), the
network interface is properly brought up even after a restart of the
computer, so I would think
Because there is no such thing as an 'intel' kernel or an 'amd' one.
AMD64 is the name of the architecture of the CPU. Intel use the name
INTEL64 (formerly EM64T). But there is only one kernel for the two
vendors.
I think that this bug should be closed if nobody is still experiencing
this bug.

Awesome to have compiz enabled by default on a ATI X700 videocard :-)
Nevertheless, there are some minor issues:
Videoplayback via Xv or GL2 is flickering when compiz is enabeled.

I have the same problem on a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo A1630. The card is
Radeon Mobility 9700. The screen turns white as soon as I log in,
forcing me to log out and disable the drivers in Safe Mode.
It all works well without the xorg-driver-fglrx package, but then I have
